‘Once I saw a customer, years ago, damaging books in mum and dad’s shop. Tearing pages out. Screwing them up. Shouting things I couldn’t understand.

Mum was crying. Dad was furious. So was I. When customers are unhappy they should ask for a refund, not go mental.

These men are just as bad. They’re hurting books cruelly and viciously and laughing about it.

Why?’

The book that they read couldn’t of been that bad to thrash the rest of them. Why is this world so cruel? Even in the orphanage those people with armbands were burning books for no reason at all.

‘Once I spent about 6 hours telling stories to Zelda, to keep her spirits up, to keep my spirits up, to keep our legs moving as we trudge through the rain towards the city.’

Physically their muscles were hurting a lot that they could of collapsed at any moment especially their leg muscles. Emotionally their hoping to see their mums and dads as soon as possible and mentally they are broken down because Zelda is 6 years old so when she is not with her parents she cries and has a tantrum and breakdown. Where as for Felix he is grown up son he knows a lot more and knows whats going on so he does not worry too much but mentally he wants to see his parents so he can be happy again. Unlike Zelda he has not seen them for 3 years and 8 months were Zelda has not seen her parents for a couple of days. They also might not recognise Felix as he has changed due to puberty and his voice will be very very different.

My favorite character from ‘Once’ is Felix because he is the main character. He is also very nieve because he acts childish and he doesn’t know anything going on in the real world because he has been trapped in a orphanage. When he finally escapes he finds out about the Nazi’s however he only thinks that they burn Jewish books. Then he finds out that they kill people because a stranger tells him. The stranger tells him because Felix was wondering where his parents went and why a different family is living in his house.

He is also my favorite character because he writes and tells a lot of stories and he has a bright imagination, his parents also loved books as they were Jewish booksellers. He was also very positive, if you told him something negative or he is wrong he will refuse to except it anfd carry on doing what he’s doing.
